Allison Evonne Streett

Wilderness, sculptures by Allison Evonne Streett, is on display September 2-20, 2024 at the Ira M. Taylor Gallery at Hardin Simmons University, Abilene, Texas.

The reception and artist talk is September 20 at 5:45pm.

Wilderness is a solo exhibition of over thirty sculptures that embody the complex, beautiful, tragic reality of living in our world — a place where sickness and death are part of life, where beauty and danger coexist.  The wilderness is beautiful and full of life, but it is also a place of suffering, temptation, despair, and the threat of death. This collection includes relief sculptures of poisonous plants, representing the fine line between life and death, as well as portraits and figures that tell stories of human experience, both tragic and hopeful.
