Alex J. Ettl Grant

The Alex J. Ettl Grant is a prize of $7,800 sponsored by the National Sculpture Society. The Grant includes an unrestricted $5,000 cash award, a half-page ad in Fine Art Connoisseur magazine (value: $2,150) and a quarter page ad in Sculpture Review magazine (value: $650).

It is awarded annually to a figurative or realist sculptor who has demonstrated a commitment to sculpting and outstanding ability in his or her body of work. The Ettl Grant is for a mature body of work; sculpture created in workshop or instructional settings should not be submitted.

Applicants cannot be elected members of the National Sculpture Society. All applicants must be citizens of or residents in the United States with a social security number.

The jury will consist of three prominent sculptors.

The grant will be presented at the June 2018 Sculpture Celebration Conference at Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina.

Submission Materials:

Images of up to twelve works of sculpture (2 views each – 24 images total). Images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format and the longest side of the image should be approximately 1500 pixels long. Resolution of 72 dpi or higher.
