Participation Scholarships

For sculptors, born between 1984-1999, who would like to attend NSS’ 2020 Sculpture Conference.  The Conference will take place June 5-7, 2020 at Chesterwood, Daniel Chester French’s former studio in the Berkshires, MA.

Eligibility: 

Sculptors must have been born between 1984-1999.  All applicants must be citizens of or residents in the United States with a social security number.

Please note that work that is inspired by nature – figurative, realistic, animal, wildlife sculpture – is preferred

Recipients: Up to four recipients will be selected.

Deadline: March 16, 2020

Rewards:

Three night hotel stay

Registration fee for the 2020 Sculpture Celebration Conference

Complimentary one year Associate Membership with NSS

 

Please note that recipients are responsible for their own meals, travel and daily expenses.

Submission Materials:

1. Images of six to twelve works of sculpture (up to twenty-four images total). Images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format. The longest side of the image should be at least 1500 pixels long.

2. A list stating the title, medium and dimensions of the sculpture in PDF (.pdf) or Word (.docx) format.

3. A biography or resume in PDF (.pdf) or Word (.docx) format.

Be sure to state ‘Participation Scholarships’ in the subject line or body of the email.

Jury:  Three sculptors will jury the applicants.

Additional:  The scholarships are funded by bequests from the estate Roger T. Williams and by gifts from the Green-Wood Cemetery

NSS programs are open to individuals of all races, ethnic origins, colors, genders and religions.
