People express themselves largely through body language. My work portrays our raw emotions, shared humanity, and the beauty of our various forms. The goal of my art practice is to inspire people to see and enjoy the beauty of our common human spirit and multicultural world.
I create my sculptures by swirling and forming fabric over posed professional ballerinas, art models, and persons of renown. After quickly hardening, I remove the fabric sculptures and paint them as if they were artists' canvases.
I love this spontaneous and collaborative process of creating my works. I also enjoy getting to sculpt and paint. Shaping fabric over figures and enhancing the forms with color is a highly gratifying occupation!
You can see my sculptures at various exhibits and at the US Olympic & Paralympic Visitor Center in Colorado Springs. Visit my website to learn about my ongoing inclusivity projects.
(A note of interest–while some of my sculptures look like bronze or stone, their average weight is only 10 lbs.)
