Wendy Klemperer

Opening on Earth Day 2023, a selection of Wendy Klemperer’s sculptures made from salvaged and natural elements were displayed on the grounds of the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport, NY.  Titled “Wendy Klemperer: Wrought Taxonomies”, this is the inaugural exhibition in the Vanderbilt Museum’s outdoor sculpture program and the institution’s second exhibition of contemporary art focused on the relationship between culture and animals.  In 2022, Klemperer was the recipient of the 2022 Marilyn Newmark Memorial Grant from National Sculpture Society or her excellence as an animal sculptor. “Wrought Taxonomies” runs through April 2024 at the Long Island museum.
