ELIGIBILITY

NSS California Communities at the RTIA Show (Reno Tahoe International Art Show) is open to CA, NV, AZ, ID, OR, and UT sculptors who are members of the NSS Ambassador Communities in California and to all NSS members residing in states adjacent to Nevada. All entries are subject to jury and will be juried anonymously from the submitted images. More than one work per artist may be accepted into the show.

Sculptors from other parts of the US are welcome to participate on a paid basis on the sculpture walk or in their own space.  Prices are affordable and artists may contact Briana Dolan at (714) 319-3385.

THE RTIA SHOW

The Reno Tahoe International Art Show is a fine art fair entering its third annual event following a successful inaugural debut in 2022. The RTIA Show 2024 takes place September 12-15 and encompasses 160,000 square feet of exhibition space, featuring over 200 curated independent fine artists, 60 galleries and features, RTIA Talks, the RTIA Awards, and Cordillera Film Festival and the Reno Rising outdoor co-located Music Festival set for 6,000 participants.

GUIDELINES

Artists are asked to submit their very best work. Sculptures may be in any permanent medium. Terracotta, plaster, ceramic, and works in other fragile materials will be considered, but only on the condition that artists assume all responsibility for proper packaging and shipping of works. The NSS, RTIA, and Reno Sparks Convention Center will NOT be held responsible for any damages. Larger works are encouraged. Artists may choose to deliver, install, and pick up their own work at the conclusion of the show, or ship work(s) to the Reno Sparks Convention Center and hire RTIA Show staff to uncrate/re-crate work(s) for a fee of $60/per sculpture. Crates and boxes will be safely stored on the convention center grounds.

JURY AND NOTIFICATION

A Jury of Selection will be assembled to review works for inclusion in the show. Emails will be sent to all sculptors who entered to inform them whether their work was selected for exhibition or not.

CONTRACT

All accepted sculptors will be asked to sign a brief contract stating that they agree to loan their accepted work of sculpture for the duration of the exhibition at Reno Sparks Convention Center. Contracts will also establish the retail price for all works intended for sale. Images of accepted works will be used for promotional and marketing purposes.

INSURANCE

Insurance for individual works in transit and on exhibit is strongly encouraged and is the responsibility of the sculptor. RTIA Show will provide security at the event through the Reno Sparks Convention Center and will provide overall event liability insurance.

SALES

Sculptures accepted in the exhibition are not required to be available for sale. RTIA Show will take 30% commission on sales; the National Sculpture Society will receive no commission from sales. Retail prices established in the contract will not be subject to change during the exhibition.

PEDESTALS & SIGNAGE

Artists may bring their own pedestals. If the artist does not have a pedestal, pedestals of varying sizes are available for rent and cost up to $50/per pedestal. Pedestals are also for sale between $80.00 – $170.00 based on size. RTIA will provide signage for each sculpture with custom 10”-12” round floor decals.
